THANK YOU
Any charity or group staffed by volunteers relies heavily on the generosity of businesses and trades people
with a strong sense of community. EGFHG has benefited from some generous acts by such people, some
who are listed below, while others prefer to remain annonymous. Be they listed or anonymous we are
exceedingly grateful.
These businesses support us, please consider supporting them if you have the opportunity.
We are fortunate to be included in the list of community groups able to raise funds through sausage
sizzles at Bunnings Warehouse and have a core group of members who regularly give up a couple of
hours on these days.
A big thank you to Bunnings Warehouse for providing this opportunity, and to our volunteers on
those days. These efforts enable us to generate extra funds which help us acquire new resources.
As we learn new skills and develop our media presence the requirement for specialist software
increases, these are often very expensive and hard to justify.
The good people at Nitro have donated two licences for the use of their PDF creation and editing
program which is much appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you to Ken Morrison who donated a large electric heater and Craig Prior from Bruthen Electrics
who installed it making our research rooms and library warm and comfortable in the winter months.
Many thanks to Paul from BPR Plumbing Services who has carried out some much needed plumbing
works in the old section of premises enabling it functional again.
East Gippsland Family History Group is grateful to East Gippsland Shire Council for their financial
support.
The Shire funds all of the family history groups and historical societies throughout East Gippsland via
the Heritage Networks East Gippsland. The network distribute the funds on their behalf equally on a
membership basis to all groups.
We are also thankful to the Shire for their rent assistance support in our current premsies.
Thank you to Robert and his team at Bairnsdale Cabinets who secured, edged, trimmed and delivered
the table top in our research room, promptly and at short notice, when our additional computers were
installed.
Thanks to the generous donaton of the East Gippsland Water we have been able to increase our
computing power with six additional machines enabling our researchers better accessibility to their
digital resources. Thank you.
Our membership of Connecting Up made it possible for us to obtain Microsoft programming to
enhance our operating system at a most reasonable cost. We appreciate large companies such as
Microsoft having the ability to recognise and assist volunteer groups in such a manner. Thank you.
Local business Dahlsens Mitre 10 Bairnsdale have quietly supported our group for many years with
the loan of equipment, provision of sausage sizzle site, donation of materials and general support.
A family business supporting the family history which is much appreciated.
Wolfgang Ciemcioch from CBS, is the talented individual who fixes our computer problems and
maintains our network keeping it safe and secure. For a community group such as ours, this is a major
contribtuion of time and effort on his part and we are indebted to him for his contribution to the group.
The biggest asset of the East Gippsland Family History Group is its volunteers.
Our members staff the research rooms three days a week enabling members and visitors access to our
resource facility. They are constantly working on improving and expanding our databases and working on
various projects. They are cleaning rooms, mowing lawns, removing rubbish or maintaining the garden or
building and all contributing to the happy environment that prevails at the rooms. Many of our members
finished their research years ago but they are addicted to the social atmosphere and the ability to
contribute and help other researchers. Each and every one of them is an integral part of the Group and they
are all appreciated.
